Name is all I have!!

I consider myself to be a proud owner of a unique name.Well lets admit that Nilay isn't a very unique name( I myself have met an individual having the same name as mine but look at this NILAY KANJILAL ..and you will have to admit that such a name isn't very common.
But then there are problems if you aren't a Ramesh, Suresh or Rahul. The main problem is when I have to introduce myself to someone.
"Hey son! what is your name"? "Sir! Nilay Kanjilal..!!"
MILAN whaat?? Ah..and then I have to go through the trouble of spelling it.."Sir not milan!! It's N..I..L..A..Y Nilay K..A..N..J..I..L..A..L kanjilal!! Luckily that discussion on my name did not last that long. But am not very lucky all the time.I am used to listen to milan,nila, even nilesh.(Cmon how can someone's name be Nila??) Once traveling I met a fellow passenger who to kill time was after my name in a big bad way. After going through the trouble of spelling my name for him(am used to it now) he pondered that Kanjilal's are usually Gujarati! How come I was a Bengali?? Now that's an answer my father would be in a better position to give.Then there are few who are hell bent on asking the meaning of Nilay??
But the advantages of having such a name are uncountable.One you are easily remembered. Two your name initiates such a discussion that you are never in loss of topics while you come across people. Three(this is a common one) starting with a N my roll number's in the middle.So am not the first one facing the wrath of my teacher for not answering her viva questions nor is it at the end so that sir or madam is not completely frustrated at the hopeless condition of the class. So all in all am sure all of us are proud of our names but I consider that am special.

Here's a confession,,coming straight from the heart!! I do not know the basics of blogging but yes I do want to know..!! Not many of my friends are into blogging and I will admit that I chose this because it kills time.That is after I am free from counter strike(am still a novice there as well) and watching movies there has to be something which can keep me occupied.
Not many will read my blog because am not a film star (Well I don't even have a pet to give it a funky name!!)
Am a college going kid and besides watching movies and playing counter strike I do sometimes attend classes as well (when teachers start threatening)..
I will keep my first blog sweet and simple and will hope that I get at least one view.
