Chicken Soup for the Soul..!!

Recenty read about Chicken soup for the Soul series of books. These consist of short inspirational stories and motivational essays. The first book had about 101 stories.Plus there are some 106 titles.
They are called Chicken Soup as chicken soup is used as a home remedy for the sick. They have been edied by motivational speakers Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen(never heard about them). But yes, motivational stories seem to be a good read.I mean human beings look for sources of inspiration and motivation all the time.If you have ever noticed,if you do any good or are successful one question people ask is "who is your source of inspiration?"

Well I have gone through Paulo Coelhos most of the books and I simply admire them. After reading The Alchemist,I remember that I made a time-table and followed it religiously for a week. Can you imagine..?If one fine day an award is being announced for the most indisciplined, most irregular student,I am sure that I will be nominated(nah..I dont claim I will win).So such a student making a routine and following it not for a day but a week??Hmmm..Good work Mr Coelho.Remember Alchemist said to follow your dreams.I did that too.Slept for 10 hours daily just to have dreams.(All I had was nightmares in which I was put behind bars and a bowl of Rasgullas kept out of my reach..!!)

So the point is I will like to read some of these chicken soul books.Whats intresting is that most of these books are directed at specific groups of people like Chicken Soup for The Prisoner's Soul,Chicken Soup for The Mother's Soul..Intresting.
So if you are encountering losses in business,if you have been dumped by your lover,if your son just ran away, just to come back after a week married,if you fought with your best friend,if your maths teacher threw you out of your class for not doing homework and if the new pair of jeans you bought last week doesn't fit you any more, its time to get some motivation. So grab your copy.

Waise on a more serious note,I won't be reading Chicken Soup for the soul to get motivation. If I ever feel low,I go and have a full plate of Chicken tandoori. That puts me in Seventh heaven. Sorry Peta India,I have no plans to turn vegetarian.

Finally few smiles...!!

After the bomb blasts, the past few days have brought about changes.People smiling and hopes rekindled..its like after so many days of black dark clouds even the sun was frustrated and decided enuf was enuf,it had to shine. While America received its first black president with open arms, there are talks that team Australia doesn't deserve the world champs title anymore, thanks to the beating it received from apna India.Saying anything conclusive on my part would be utter foolishness, coz australians have shown that they are true champs. They have in the past defied critics and have come back stronger and sharper whenever they have been put into such a situation. That's a different story that their bowling doesn't seem lethal anymore with the likes of McGrath and Warnie taking a bow and batting too looks lacklusture. So as of now lets play the waiting game!!

Coming to Chandrayan-1,credit is due to ISRO for its fantastic work.Where countries like USA and Russia could not make it to the moon in 1st attempt,we did. That too,by taking just 1/3rd the price taken by those countries.Talks are that ISRO is planning a trip to studying the outer surface of Sun as well.Plus the manned mission to moon.WoW...Hamara Hindustan Rocks bhai!!

Arre oh Obama Bhaiya..Mubarack ho.Thinking about a Black President in America, say about a decade before was like thinking of Madonna singing Bhajans and Jagjit Singh trying his hand at Qawwali. But then here we are..the 44th US president is a black. So as billions of hope rests on his shoulders,i sincerely hope that people dont get impatient and give him ample time to prove his worth.Policies can't be implemented in a day.

Waise when will Madonna sing Bhajans then??

Mumbai......when do you sleep???

Well,I will be frank...!!!When I came to Mumbai from Bangalore this weekend to celebrate deepawali with parents,I expected that this city which is one of the most rocking cities of India(please keep Raj thackarey out of your minds) will not be celebrating diwali with the usual pomp and show.Cmon...how can it??How can the financial capital of India celebrate when the Rupee is tumbling down, when sensex is dropping every day like team australia's form, when pink slips are the order of the day..??And add to the fact that a guy from patna was recently killed in an encounter when he decided to hop on to BEST bus no 332 with a revolver to kill raj thackaray.(well this will be discussed later).
But I was proved wrong.Mumbai celebrated and I would tell the truth that this has been one of the most fantaboulous diwali's of my life. The grandiose way in which the streets were lighted and people bursted crackers,i wondered whether there was any news of sensex regaining points.
But true to it's spirit..aamchi mumbai just rocked.Arre..kal ki kal sochenge..aaj diwali hain..patakhe phodenge...!!
I had decided not to burst crackers and would limit myself to only 3 gulab jamoons today.Someone with brains has aptly remarked"Never make resolutions which you can't fulfill."
The limit of 3 gulabjamoons had to be extended to 13 and I lighted few rockets and bombs.
Guess you just can't stay away from this festival.
Coming back to Mr. Rahul Raj Singh, who had come to mumbai to get a job maybe but was highly inspired by the movie Wednesday. But while there Naseeruddin Shah was supported with ample technology and planning, this guy decided a revolver would be enuf.Although I strongly oppose the fact that he was killed,am equally surprised at the guy's behaviour.I guess frustration has it's limits.
Anyways, this diwali was a tiring one..(eating 13 gulab jamoons is no mean feat)..so feeling sleepy.
Gud nite..Mumbai..oops I forgot..this city never sleeps..!!

Some people have all the free time in this world

* Harbhajan Singh and Mona get court notices for playing Ravana and Sita in a reality dance show. How the hell can they do so..??Aren't they Sikhs??So they have to pay.Someone probably sipping a cup of coffee in his palatial bunglow, made out of black money, decided that it has been a while since he had been in limelight so he decided to take them to court.
* MNS chief Raj Thackarey wants all north Indians out of Maharashtra. So he now gets the support of die hard marathi fanatics who believe Maharashtra's their land and belongs to no one else.Indian Constitution's article to live freely anywhere in India and earn a living for every Indian can go for a ride.So while he gets arrested these so called protectors of maharashtrian culture start burning their own homeland and killling innocent people.

* Mamta Bannerjee tries hard to become the Chief Minister. When she fails, she now wants to stay in the lime light or else "yeh junta hain Bhai...inki memory bahut kharab hoti hain".So she takes the cause of poor farmers in Singur."Give us land or else we won't allow you to run your nano factory. So helpless Ratan Tata says tata to W.B and Gujarat takes over. That's a different story that soon after Tata went, there was a strike saying that this was Tata's strategy. They never wanted a plant in Bengal.Wow after investing 1500 Crore he never wanted a plant in Bengal.Good one..

There are several more instances of media hungry people trying desperately to do something or the other to get a piece of print and the television media. We won't allow this or that, coz people's sentiments have been hurt.Who Goddamn are they to decide when our sentiments are hurt is a question better left unanswered?Sania should stop wearing such clothes coz Islam doesn't allow this.I guess a Burqa clad sania would look quite funny facing her competitor.
That's one side of India for you. That's the masala one eagerly awaits for in the daily newspapers.
Now does this irritate you??And if it does who's to blame? Now before we all start taking sides and start pointing fingers at the media stating that they do nothing except making catchy headlines, let us all be little realistic. So you can't clap with one hand and neither can I sir,so while you point fingers at media, politicians etc, mind you 3 fingers are towards you...(or shall I say us the so called aam aadmi..!!)
Now let's start the debate??What can we do,except reading the morning newspapers with some hot tea and marie biscuits and then hopelessly commenting that nothing's going the way it should be..??
Now let me take you to recent past..Jessica Lall case!!Remember how so called Manu Sharma who was earlier freed from the clutches of the law was later taken back just because we,the aam aadmi decided to start a nation wide campaign. There are more but then this post is becoming unnecesarily long. All I want to state is that ,these RajThackeray's and Mamta Banerjee's are into the limelight because of us.We have put them there. So why not take few corrrective steps..??
It's time for India to unite. Is someone listening??Let's get our asses moving..

It's two in the morning and am not feeling sleepy.Well I feel if you are too tired you feel like sleeping but once you close your eyes you feel you cannot sleep.(Dunno about others this happens to me..!!)Added to the fact that my routine does not allow me to sleep before 3.
I am tired.Had gone to a dhaba to have dinner and so had to walk for around 6Kms.For some one as lazy as me that's a hell lot of a distance.
A very peculiar thought came across me.Well there are so many females who are victims of molestation or eve teasing..many who do not even complain so the number is large.I just thought what would have happened if God would have decided to change the rules just for a day. That is on that day all this teasing business would be undertaken by girls. That is we guys would be molested.
Now I must clarify here that I simply hate such heinous crimes and the pain which is being bared by females is unthinkable.I am just taking this in a more lighter note so all you Women centric organizations or so called Mahila Samities may please forgive me.
Coming back what happens if we are molested.I mean a guy walking down the road and 3 to 4 females after him shouting"Kya item hain"? I mean how will we feel. Now hey I have changed the rules here so all you guys thinking that it would be fun can forget that because God has changed the rules. So we would feel bad.Imagine a guy running into the police station complaining that he was molested.
Cutting the crap..What I do not understand is all those bastards(pardon the language nothing else coming in mind) doing these forget that they have sisters at home, they forget that he's living because his mother was kind enough to bring him into this world.
Ah enuf of this senti stuff(or serious stuff whatever you want to say).Need to sleep.Signing out!!

OBLIVION

I am fading into oblivion
My identity is lost...
Yes! No one knows me here
Friends..No I don't have any.
I was once famous and talked about
Am now in self doubt!!

I was once the golden catch
but now have to start from scratch
Am losing it day by day
And there's nothing I can do...
Pain is unbearable,word's intolerable
I am fading into oblivion
My identity is lost!!

I want to quit, want to go back
Have many questions but answers are few
Everybody's unknown,everything's new
Depressed,disheartened,defeated,dejected
Was stoical once in life
Am now being hypochondriac
Am in darkness, not a soul to be found
Not even a flicker of light can be seen around
People shouting pointing fingers at me
And am helpless, can someone hear my plea??
I am fading into oblivion
My identity is lost!!

ALONE

Alone, alone
This lonely life beckons
No friends, no buddies
Only me, myself and I;

Alone, alone
This lonely life awaken
One sliced bosom to lament
One dented pride to defend;

Alone, alone
A lonely life to reckon
Chemo cocktail – a must-have menu
Chemo hangover – a physique transformed;

My heart – it tremble
My lips – they mumble
Hands of plea outstretched
To walk not,
To travel not,
This demented path – ALONE!
